Welcome Association Italy: Who We Are

Welcome Association Italy (W.A.I.) is a trade union that assists Italian, EU, and non-EU citizens. The services are aimed at facilitating the stay in Italy of every associate. The trade union’s guiding intuition is to offer concrete support in areas that may be most critical for its members. In line with this ambition, three divisions were created:

The National Identity Card Number and the Importance of the Document

The national identity card number is the main recognition tool in Italy from an administrative and bureaucratic point of view. It is an alphanumeric code found on both the paper identity card (ID) and the electronic one (EID). The ID card number is the result of a set of data inherent to the owner that allows state bodies and public institutions to fully recognize the individual. For this reason, the ID card is a very important tool for both Italian and foreign citizens who decide to live in Italy.

All About the Residence Card for Italy

The residence card (Card for short) is a document that has undergone a great transformation in recent decades. For this reason, Welcome Association Italy, which has always been involved in assisting foreign nationals, has decided to take a closer look at this issue. Until Legislative Decree 30/2007 came into force, the Card allowed non-EU citizens to reside permanently in Italy for periods longer than five years. Because of this peculiarity, the document was called “unlimited residence card”. Legislative Decree 30/2007, however, enacted a total transformation of the title. Let’s review this transformation together.

Gender Equality Wanted: Role Model From the Mauritanian Ambassador

Italian visa for non-EU citizens

The Italian visa for non-EU citizens is an important document required by Italian authorities to assess the legal and regular entry of citizens who do not belong to the European Union. Specifically, it is an authorization issued by the diplomatic representations of the “host” Country that allows the non-EU citizen to cross the border for short periods. The rationale on which the document is based, as well as its function, is simple and intuitive. Each Country requires compliance with certain parameters to grant an entry visa. These parameters vary depending on the type of visa, the reason for the visa, and the duration of the visa. We’ll try to explain more about them.

Jobs in Italy: Seasonal Work and Permit Conversion

There are different kinds of jobs in Italy, for instance, seasonal work. It allows EU and non-EU citizens to transit through Italy, thanks to the signing of special employment contracts regulated by Italian collective agreements. A foreign citizen can obtain a seasonal subordinate job in Italy when he receives a subordinate job offer. Only after the offer will the worker be able to convert his residence permit into one for subordinate work. The Italian authorities issue this type of permit/conversion respecting the quota established by the Decreto Flussi law.

Request for an Italian Tax Code for Foreigners, How to Obtain it

The fiscal code request is a very important procedure for a foreign citizen arriving in Italy. With this document, which takes the form of a card, foreign citizens can use certain public services and, at the same time, get in touch with the public administration. The Italian tax code is often associated with the health card, a document that indicates a subscription to the National Health System. Anyway, the purposes and uses of the two documents differ, especially when dealing with foreign citizens.
