{"id":11567,"date":"2022-07-04T10:32:53","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T08:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waitaly.net\/entry-visa-in-italy-for-indians\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T11:37:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T09:37:11","slug":"entry-visa-in-italy-for-indians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waitaly.net\/en\/entry-visa-in-italy-for-indians\/","title":{"rendered":"Entry visa to Italy for Indians"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the millions of foreign nationals entering Italy for one reason or another, one huge community stands out, namely Indians.<br\/>\n<\/p>\n\n<!--more-->\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>In fact, the trend showing that Indian citizens account for a significant percentage of all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waitaly.net\/en\/news\/\">entries into Italy<\/a> continues.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawn by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waitaly.net\/en\/\">the beauty of Italy<\/a>, an unknown number of Indian citizens cross the Italian border every year. Most of these citizens enter on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waitaly.net\/en\/welcome-combos\/extra-eu-up-to-90-days\/\">tourist visa<\/a>, which allows them to stay for no more than ninety days. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given the high numbers, and in order to best support and assist its members and readers, the Welcome Association Italy union offers a quick guide on how to apply for a visa for Indian citizens.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: search information<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first step, it is essential to search for information on the website of the Italian Embassy in New Delhi. In doing so, Indian citizens find the information, procedures and documents needed to be able to start the bureaucratic process, such as, for example, health coverage. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Required documents<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the information gathered in the first step, the Indian citizen or national is aware of the documents needed to be able to obtain a visa. For example, in the case of a tourist visa of up to 90 days, the documents needed will be: <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">entry visa application form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">recent passport-size photograph<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Valid travel document with an expiration date at least three months longer than that of the requested visa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Round-trip travel ticket (or reservation), or proof of availability of personal means of transportation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Proof of possession of economic means of livelihood, to the extent provided for in the Directive of the Ministry of the Interior 1.3.2000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Supporting documentation of one&#8217;s socio-professional status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">health insurance having a minimum coverage of \u20ac30,000 for emergency hospitalization and repatriation expenses, valid throughout the Schengen area<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Availability of accommodation (hotel reservation, declaration of hospitality, declaration of assumption of accommodation expenses by the inviter)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Visa application<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once all the documents listed above have been collected, it will be possible to formally apply for a visa. The visa application for Indian nationals can be made at the three Italian institutional offices present in Indian territory, namely: <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Consulate General of Italy in KOLKATA  <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5G, Rev.
