Welcome Association Italy alongside contemporary art: support for Karen Thomas’ exhibition “Seasons – The colors of eternal change”

Rome, May 6, 2025

The opening of the exhibition "Seasons - The Colors of Eternal Change" by German artist Karen Thomas, a leading figure in contemporary Neo-Expressionism, will be held on Sunday, June 1, at 6 p.m., at the "Adelaide Gigli" Hall of the Villa Colloredo Mels Civic Museum in Recanati.

The initiative is promoted by the Minerva Project, curated by Michele Gambini and Gaia Giovannini, with the support of Sistema Museo Cooperative and the patronage of the City of Recanati. The exhibition will be open to the public until Sept. 7, 2025.

Official partners include Welcome Association Italy (WAI), an association that works for the inclusion, orientation and protection of the rights of foreign nationals present in Italy. With members from more than 70 countries, WAI today represents a landmark in the panorama of Italian association networks.

"Supporting art and culture is for us a social political act-in the noblest sense of the word-because it builds bridges, generates belongingness and strengthens social cohesion."-said Carlo Palumbo, Deputy Secretary General of WAI.
"In our daily work alongside students, families and foreign workers, we see how the symbolic language of art can speak to everyone and become an opportunity for confrontation and dialogue between different histories and experiences. The invitation to participate in this exhibition is a source of pride for us and a new opportunity to enhance the beauty of the encounter between cultures."

The exhibition "Seasons - The Colors of Eternal Change" offers a visual journey through 24 recent works, which tell - through bold pictorial gestures and luminous colors - the profound rhythm of nature and its transformations. Seasons become a metaphor for human time, growth, change and hope. Also on display in the exhibition will be a special work, created exclusively for the label of a new edition of the famous Varnelli liqueur, a symbol of excellence from the Marche region and a partner in the event.

WAI's participation in events such as this is part of a broader strategic plan to strengthen the association's presence in the territories not only through services and branches, but also through cultural, social and artistic initiatives.

For WAI, art is one of the preferred channels for fostering inclusion, well-being, active citizenship and dialogue.

"Art is dialogue"
